is frostwire legal?

all my friends tell me it is legal, but i dont know for sure. my dad says its illegal, and my friends say its legal. is frostwire REALLY legal or is it a scam??

Having a P2P program is not illegal. Downloading pirated content is illegal.

Colleens right it’s not illegal to have the program it’s illegal to download or upload copyrighted content without the proper consent of the respective owners. Hope this helps :D

if it’s a song by a band, a program, a movie, or a book that was not created by you is copyrighted most of the time

if you have to buy it then its copyrighted basically in store or online

The program it’s self is not illegal. The actions you preform with it, however, are. It is illegal to download music that you have not paid for. When you download with Frostwire (or any other p2p program) it’s considered piracy.
