Answer #4

While the answer given by bubbles0990 may be correct, it doesn’t help you.

You need to first turn the equation into an improper fraction: 2 1/2 = 2(whole number) x 2(denominator) + 1 (numerator) =5/2 + 6/7

Now you need a common denominator: Both 2 and 7 multiply into 14 equally, so 14 will be your new denominator Since you multiplied 2 x 7 and 7 x 2 to get 14, you have to do the same with the numerator: 5 x 7/14 + 6 x 2/14 = 35/14 + 12/14 = 47/14 =2 5/14
