Finally 18 and my parents that I don't live with say I can't smoke!

Yes well I turn 18 on november 2, 2008 and got out of foster care after 3 1/2 years, and thanksgiving is on Thursday, and my mom (step) and Dad said that I can’t smoke if front of them when they smoke, then they were trying to tell me that they won’t even let my brother smoke and he is 15 there is a big age difference. So what should I do. Its unfair because I do not live with them and I am an adult now. Any Help?

Answer #1

Their house - show respect and follow their desire.

Answer #2

Is Thanksgiving really the time to stand up to them?? Besides, their house, their rules. And they may not want your smoking to influence your younger brother. AS IF THEIRS DIDN’T??? Oh well.

(You can always invite then to your place with some rules of your own.) ;) Good Luck!!

I know that you may like to smoke and they are addicted they just don’t want to see you go through all of the things they went through it shortens life’s and that makes adults sad. (yours truly) the misfit…

Answer #4

Answer #5

Answer #6

Answer #8

um dont smoke. it makes you smell funny

Answer #9

Smoking is bad, you might end up having cancer, smelling and maybe even dead someday. (plus, your teeth will turn black) The impression I/and most others have on smokers are- •they totally reek •depressed/sick •people who commit crimes •poor and unstable •ugly, no matter how good looking you are

your parents won’t allow you to smoke because they worry about you health condition-they are already addicted to smoking, but you haven’t had your dose yet. Plus, they/you don’t want to cash out on kimotheraphy.

Answer #10

Um… if there in front of them and your at their house like for example going over then don’t smoke… But other wise, do it if you want too… But if I were you I wouldn’t do it could smokeing f*cks you up… My dad had a stroke because he smoked too much… I don’t know if you want too be in a hospital… But Wish you the best… Hope this helps!

Answer #11

So let me understand this … you’re an adult, you don’t live with them, but when you visit them, they smoke right in front of you and tell you you can’t!?

Just light up anyway, and tell them you’ll put yours out if they’ll put theirs out. It doesn’t matter that it’s their house.

Answer #12

if you go to THEIR house then you have to follow their rules if they go to YOUR house they have to follow your rules

by in my opinion they did take care of you, and your going to repay them by smoking in front of them when they think it’s rude??

however it is wrong if you arnt around them and they tell you not too, you should take control, stand up for yourself and make your own decisions parents are parents they are meant to ruin your life lol

Answer #13

its disrespectful to smoke in front of people you respect even if they smoke…sorry I think yoru fighting a losing battle…

Answer #14

Smoke if you want to. when you aren’t living under their roof, its none of their business what you do in your own time what are they gunna do? ground you? yell at you? you’re 18, do what you want, and make the most of it ^_^
