Marie, most kids get (and often want) too much highly refined and processed comfort foods or even junk foods, with too many calories for the skimpy amount of necessary micronutrients they contain. What they usually need most are fresh (or frozen) fruits and vegetables. Often, the challenge is to find ways of providing these that appeal to your kids. So the answer to your question depends a lot on what kinds of foods your kids like (especially home-cooked foods) and what they reject. If you want to say more about that, I'll try to give you some more specific ideas.
Fruit cups, carrots, trail mix, pb&j, pudding cups, apples and peanut butter, and maybe sun chips instead of regular chips. Sorry I didn't read the whole question the first time
