Extended algebra how do you do it???

K so I have extended algebra but I dont know how to do it there are 2 questions im really stuck on can you please help me??!!

Questions:

8(k+3)=12k-4

 And

6x+4=5(3x+8)

Answer #1

thanks so much!!!

Answer #2

I dunno what extended algebra is.. But to solve the equation, this is how to do it:

8(k+3)=12k-4 Distribute 8 to the item in the parentheses (distributive property) by multiplying 8 to k and 3. So it becomes:

8k+24=12k-4

ensure that variables are in the same side and constants are in the same side. Move 4 to the side of 24 and make sure to reverse the sign (when you transpose items, you reverse the sign). Move 8k to the side of 12k and also reverse the sign.

24+4=12k-8k

Add 24 and 4 and subtract 8k from 12 k to get:

28=4k

4k is 28, so if you want to know k, divide 28 by 4.

28/4=k 7=k k=7

Same goes for the 2nd qstion.
