EVDO searching???
I have a U.S. Cellular LGUX830 (Glimmer) and today I noticed right next to my signal bars there is an EV sign. I looked it up in the icon glossary and it said it was called EVDO Searching. What is this? Is it costing me? How can I get it off?
for anyone else who has this same question us cellular changed their service to this evdo buisness so easyedge and picture messaging is faster!

It means “Evolution- Data Optimized.”
It is used typically for broadband Internet access. If your phone comes with Internet on the plan, you should be fine with charges. If you don’t have Internet on your plan, it could be costing you to be connected. I’d call to be sure.
