What type of deaths permit an organ donor to donate their heart?

Hey I am writing a story for english and I am assigned words and I decided to do a story about an organ donor and a donatee…I have a question though ( I like to be accurate) what type of deaths permit an organ donor to donate their heart? Also how long can the person be dead before the heart is transplanted to the donatee? Please I need the real answers quickly! – please answer only if you know what you’re talking about

Answer #1

Any death that wasn’t caused by a diseased or damaged heart…as for the time, I’m afraid I don’t know, sorry.

Answer #2

The only way to be an organ doner is if you are brain dead but your body is still functioning. Of course you can see why it is very difficult to find organ donations because brain dead injuries rarely occur and on top of that the person has to have consented to being a doner. If they haven’t and their family denies donation of the body there can’t be a donation. As long as the person is brain dead, the body can be kept alive for year to decades, its like being in a coma. Anyway time really isn’t the issue with it the issue is with finding a proper doner.
