Is it harmful to drink a gallon of water a day?

. Not as far as I am aware. . The amount that you should be drinking is determined by the amount you need to maintain proper hydration levels. I frequently drink around 4 litres of fluids per day when I am doing a lot of strenuous exercise and sweating a lot. . 4 litres is just over one US gallon, and just under one Imperial Gallon - as commonly used in the UK. . I have sometimes drunk more than two Imperial gallons in one day, though that was predominently beer. .

I don’t think so i drink a lot of water myself and im talking about the big smart waters. It’s good for you i heard 8 glasses of water are good for us. If ur active and play sports ur going to drink way more. I think its only bad if you hold it in when you have to pee…other than that hey drink away!

I drink unfortunetely maybe two glasses of water a day. Actually, of anything.

There is an amount that will kill you…too much in the system can do damage,i know off a famous case in the British press that high lighted the fact “Leo Betes” as some one died at a party and at first dr_ugs where blamed when in fact it was too much intake of water,I am sure i have got that right?

I think it really depends on the particulars of your lifestyle…but I don’t think a gallon a day is actually harmful in and of itself. However, if you are on certain medications you can be flushing them right back out of your system, so they aren’t as effective.

I only drink water whenever i feel thirsty.Sometime 1 lit a day.I heard that too much water at one time could be dangerous for kidney.It may swell.

no. water is good for you and a properly hydrated body is a happy body. You can overdo it, like in the case mentioned earlier by badboyvibes. A gallon per day is definitely enough to maintain ideal hydration.

No it is not, but drinking too much water can kill you, it’s known as water intoxification

Water is healthy but remember good nutrition and a multi vitamin too much water can dilute all the electrolytes and make muscles and parts of it body not function as well but a gallon is not too much.
