Does coconut oil help a perosn'd hair to grow longer?

I am a 14 yr. old young guy and I apply coconut oil to my hair every week. Will that help my hair grow quicker and longer? if not then what can help my hair grow quick except pills and drugs?

Answer #1

yeah it does and it also makes your hair stronger

Answer #2

AM USING COCONUT OIL AT THE MOMENT WILL LET you KNOW IF IT WORKS.

Answer #3

Well I was told the same. I apply it every 3 days for 15 minutes and follow with almond oil for 5 minutes and then grow shampoo. All are sold on amazon. Its seems to help my hair grow faster but I am also pregnant so that could be why. They say to stimulate your scalp by brushing or massaging also.

You keep asking questions about hair growth. I believe you’re the kid who I sent a really long message regarding hair care.

This site should cover just about anything you could possibly want to know.

Yes, coconut oil is good but if you find it to be too heavy, use Flax seed, Almond or some other variety of oil. Everyone has their preference.

The message you weren’t able to read:

Interesting question. What texture of hair do you have? Is it straight, curly, wavy or African?

There is nothing that will make your hair grow faster. I’ve had waist-long hair, before. It’s not much shorter than that right now, in fact.

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but this is a game of patience. Everyone’s hair has its own natural pre-determined genetic growth rate. Thankfully, mine grows very fast. I have friends who’s hair grows extremely slowly. My brother’s hardly grows at all.

Essentially, its as simple as not cutting it, anymore. If it feels soft, it’s healthy. If the ends start to feel like straw, they need to be cut off or they’ll spread upward. As long as you’re growing it out, don’t dye it. That will dry it out and make it more liable to become unhealthy.

If you have naturally dry hair, you can use a touch of Coconut, Jojoba, Vitamin E or Flax-Seed oil on the ends before you wash it in order to keep moisture in the core and thus, to keep it feeling soft. If you have naturally oily hair, growing it out is very easy, its keeping it clean that gets difficult.

No matter what, use conditioner.

If your hair is naturally dry, use conditioner without shampoo.

Shampoo is actually something you should use sparingly. It dries out your hair, especially if you get something that’s too strong.

Some people theorize that taking a multivitamin helps you have healthy hair.

I think that’s all I can tell you. Its hard to give specific directions without seeing your hair. If you have that “African” texture, where it has an actual zig-zag to it, or if you have really curly hair, I can tell you a lot more about it. Otherwise, I think I covered everything.
