Does a sore throat last more than a few days normally?

The doctor gave me about four prescriptions today for my on going cold…thing is, I’ve never had a sore throat this bad. Apparently it’s a result of previous issue I had, which I got amoxicilyn for…does a sore throat usually last for more than a few days?

lol…not to laugh at your expense, but you sound like the kid on youtube ‘Charlie bite me and IT REALLY HURTS’.

Do you suffer from acid reflux? I know my dad tends to have sore throats every now and then and sometimes last a few weeks…He’s also a smoker which doesn’t help matters much.

The longest I ever had one was 2 weeks but I have strep throat. I hope you feel better.

Usually, no. I know of at least two causes of prolonged sore throat, but there are probably others:

Seasonal allergies
Mononucleosis
