Does a doctor have to confirm that one has been diagnosed with depression or can a person know themselves when they get the symptoms?

Answer #1

Doc has to confirm but most people know the feeling

Answer #2

Most people know. Only some admit and some deny it. The ones who are told by the doctors are those who are ready to get help.

Answer #3

You will most likely know yourself. I think pretty much everyone who is feeling depressed, in the medical sense of the word, knows they are themselves. You don’t have to get it confirmed by a doctor, but it is always a good idea to as they can help you. If is a very scary thing to do, but they can point you in the right direction for help and your bravery in admitting how you feel will be the first step in helping you feel better in the end.

Answer #5

One knows one’s self, with that said…The moment you feel like everything aches, lack of desire to motivate yourself, lack of interest for the things you once were passionate about, lack of desire to interact with people you once found interesting & fun, lack of zest for life, thoughts of self pity as well as su!cide is when you know you need to pick yourself up off the ground and get some help.

Talking to someone about it, a friend or a confidant will send you right to a professional or workshop where you can see a brighter future.

All I can say is there is no greater power then knowing you are not alone, there is help out there & it doesnt mean you are weak it means you’re courageous to stand up for yourself rather then taking the easy way out(unfortunately many dont have that opportunity or desire & wind up simply giving up on themselves. I find that very sad) ;(

If you think you may be depressed or may know someone that may be depressed, the best advice I can give you is to find the nearest workshop & begin the healing process.

Hope this helps. ♥

Answer #6

For to official and treated, you have to have a doctor, most of the time people do confuse being sad, and going trough this phrase with depresion amd they are not the same. I guess a pearson could say he or she is about to fall into a depression and get help, sometimes that’s the best, that way you get help before things get worse.

Answer #7

They ask some pretty simple questions that you can look up on google or elsewhere and then they hand you some pills or send you to a psychologist. It’s not like they do a brain scan.
