Disk defragmenter could not start

Help!!! When I click on disk defragmenter and click defrag a message comes up “Disk defragmenter could not start” and I have looked everywhere online to figure out what I can do to get it to work again and I have had no luck. I have a dell computer with windows xp. I also have aol. Not sure if this information is important but thought I would add that in anyway. Please help, its really bothering me that I cannot defrag my computer, it use to work. I have no idea why it quit working. Thanks, Kim

I was also really troubled with this disk defragmenter thing. Got a more easy to understand solution here: http://dummy-essentials.blogspot.com/2009/06/error-message-disk-defragmenter-could.html
