Disclosing income.

I really would like to hear from some of you guys out there.

Here’s my problem. I start seeing someone, everything is going great, as soon as I get asked what I do and my income( +/- 100K-120k a year)…never to hear form them again. Why is that such a turn off? Should I just ignore the question?

nl83 is correct I’m sure they feel insecure there are guys out there that feel they should be making more than a woman especually in a relationship. you shouldn’t tell guys how much you make atleast not on the first date. besides thats a rude question to ask anyway if you dont know the person. my suggestion is to keep it to yourself.

good luck

Thats pathetic (not you… them). Those type of people aren’t worth your time - it goes to show all they care about. Next time someone asks just tell them what you do and if they ask your income tell them you aren’t comfortable disclosing that information unless you know them well enough and if they don’t drop it that should be a flashing light right there. Its none of their business what you make - at least you have a great job. It doesn’t say anything about who you are as a person. Let those shallow idiots find someone else to be a jacka** to.

Answer #3

they are probably intimidated by the amount of money you make and feel insecure. I wouldnt tell anyone how much money you make even if they ask, just say its something personal and you dont like to tell people, or say that when you get to know them more you can talk about it..but its really not anyones business, just tell them that its not information that you think you should have to share with anyone.

Answer #4

maybe they feel less of a man being around a women that makes more money than them
