Does anyone have advice for a newly diagnosed diabetic?

I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am wondering if there are any other diabetics out there that would have some advice for a noobie? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Dear meeandnotyou, I am surrounded by family members with Diabetes; going through all ups and downs with them I would say the most challenging is keeping track of your blood sugar and learning to eat correctly. Once you are feeling better then it is time for some exercise. The hardest part for them is feeling good enough to get out for walks or to hit the gym. So get things under control, exercise and you will start reaping the benefits of your hard work. It takes hard work but living with diabetes is not a end all. Once you have control you probably will feel better than you ever have. Sue…good luck
