It shouldn’t need “detection” ….whatever software you’re trying to use should find the camera automatically if it’s pre-installed in the computer.
IF NOT, update the drivers from compaq’s website, and do a windows update.
IF still not…add more detail (what software, operating system version, etc and what manufacturer, if any, of the compaq camera so we can help troubleshoot.
