Dell laptop: What is the source of the problem?

I have an Inspiron 6400 laptop. Recently, my computer has been giving me a blue error screen saying that hardware I have installed needs new drivers or it may be a problem with new software. IT suggested downloading new drivers or doing a system restore. Initially I did a system restore, but it wont let me restore it; it keeps coming up that the system restore was incomplete. I also downloaded the drivers from dell and it has not helped the problem either. I have had to restart my computer 4 straight days now because of it, and nothign I seem to do seems to help. Has this happened to any one? or do you know why it is happening?

ok, thanks a lot.

more than likely the hard drive is bad from what your describing here, you can bring it into best buy or a local computer repair place and they can usually figure it out pretty quick free of charge and then give you a quote to fix it, I worked in geek squad for a bit and have taken some IT classes and most likely its your hard drive though

well on one hand it could be a virus or your recovery sector has been tampered with.your best bet is to look up local computer repair stores and see if they can give you a summary of whats wrong
