Can I update the video card on my Dell laptop?

Ever since I installed Windows Vista, my video card has struggled to keep up. Even playing videos and movies, sometimes it skips and jarrs, when it never used to.

I know it’s not a memory or space problem since I did a clean Vista install. My harddrive is over 60% empty.

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 on a Dell Inspiron 600m. Could this video card be updated in my laptop? If so, how do I know which kind to buy?

I’ve already contacted Dell and they were unhelpful. (No surprise there).

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately the graphics cards on laptops cannot be updated :-( Try not to run Aero. I’m not sure of the settings to turn off that part.

Some Laptops you can update the Video card, depends on if they used a seperate video board or it is on the motherboard it’s self. unless you know what you are doing you can check the board buy carefully takeing your laptop apart. like mine I have the option of using the intel crap cpu or the expanded card witch is only an x600 xt , I have a upgrade for it, just haven’t been around to do it yet. but do some research , hopefully yours is just a plug in type.
