How to deal with a dog when it starts chasing you?

Answer #1

Turn around and face it. Show you are not scared. Dogs can actually smell your fear and I mean that quite literally. They can smell the hormones you are secreting when you are scared and will continue to chase. Stop, look the dog right in the eye and if you are feeling particularly brave, get down on all fours and bark right back at the dog. If it is still aggressive and can do some serious damage, protect your neck and face. My friend got mauled several years ago by a dog and he barely survived.

Answer #2

thanks but im not that brave that i ll get down on all fours and bark right back at the dog.

Answer #3

Dog snouts are very sensitive. So you best turn around and use some object - a stick or a bag or the dog-leash to hit the snout.

Chances are good that the dog will be scared and retreat. If it doesn’t, it might bite the object instead of biting you.

Answer #4

Never ever run from a dog, it will bring out their predatory instincts and significantly increase your chances of being attacked. Like most wild animals, you are best to stop and back away slowly. Do not make eye contact as thats seen as a challenge and can provoke the dog into attacking.

Answer #5

Chase the dog. Most dogs chase you for the purpose of actually chasing you away. If you run away he may continue to chase you as you just boosted his ego. He may also quit chasing you as he may think “job done”. If you chase him back then you have just turned the table around and he would then have no choice but to come on funadvice and ask what to do if a human chases you. WARNING some dogs are really dangerous and there is not much to do but scream like hell for help and offer your forearm (one that u don’t write with) to the dog as a sacrifice to save the rest of your body.

Answer #6

Any object (stick, bag, whatever) may be useful, too if you have it.

Answer #7

Understood. In that case, just stick with the other methods I suggested. I too am not brave enough to get on all fours.

Answer #8

fear can try to procote the dog but by showing the dog how is the Alpah dog they that dog will know that you mean bussy and not affired

Answer #9

If it is not your dog, try to climb so it can not reach you. If it is runnung after you and you stop immidiately, ny the time you turn around it would have jumped on you. It is easy to win a dog. But it is jungle way so probably not all agree to. If you have to walk passing by a house that has a dog, try to bring some cooked meat, not that much, just as big as your finger. lick the meat befire you give it to the dog. once the dog notices your salive, the dog will recognize you. good luck!

Answer #10

It takes a huge bravery to stop a dog from chasing you. I was told by my grandfather not to be afraid of a dog, but it was difficult, My first instinc to avoid a dog is running. So if you really have to face it, get some food, lick it and throw it to the dog. When he looks at you, GIVE The best smile you can possibly make to show him that you are a friend!

Answer #11

If the bog is big enough, by doing that then you have to be ready to really have the fight. It is dangerous.

Answer #12

A big smile to an aggressive dog isn’t always the best. He’ll see your teeth, and can take that as a challenge. Avoid looking it in the eyes, and just talk calmly to it. You should get down on one knee, getting your face down at the dog’s level, and talk to it.

To try to act like a dog and bark at it is not very smart

If the dog is dangerous, and you are constantly harassed by this dog, buy pepperspray and give it a little dose in the face. Not dangerous, but enough to confuse the dog.

Answer #13

Answer #14

Answer #15

Answer #16

Answer #17

Kill it

Answer #18

From my personal experience i have seen if you are afraid of that dog and start running then the dog will chase you more aggressively. but if you do nothing then the dogs won’t do anything.

But if you get a crazy one then you may get in trouble. I will recommend not to run and face it by a stick or other object. Protect yourself if the dogs tries to attack. But if you don’t run i don’t think the dog will attack you

Answer #19

If it gets you on the ground and tries to bite you grab the two parts of his snout. The lower part and the upper part… If you twist one the right way and one the left way really hard you will break its whole snout not letting bite you. Now it may sound horrible but unless you want it biting a major artery you should do this if you can.
