How long do custody battles normally go on?

How long do custody battles normally go on.my son is 9 months old.his father doesnt visit him or call him or anything.hasnt seen my son in over 2 months.he is only fighting me because he doesnt want to pay anything.he has a really bad background and has never paid a penny for or on the baby since he was born.so do you think that this will go on for a while and is their anything that I should be worried about?

Answer #1

They can go on for very long periods of time, my parents are still fighting about custody, and this is 15 years after their divorce. It all really depends on how well the two parents can cooperate. He should be paying child, based on the fact he is the father, but that should be all (unless you were married). If you have more questions just ask.

Answer #2

They can go on as long as 2 years, I know my friends did, which is crazy. By the sounds of it you don’t have anything to worry about as long as you’ve been taking proper care of your child and he doesn’t have anything bad against you like that.
