Perhaps it stands for a Certificate of Proficiency exam. As in, an exam that implies if you studied the course, in your case Communication Studies, and have passed a number of achievements, along with passing the exam, you will gain a Certificate of Proficiency meaning you can be acknowledged as proficient in that course.

CP can also be Consistency Point, or the time for data to be written to a particular disk.

The last thing related to anything technology wise is Cross-Platform, a software that can run on more than one Operating system.
