Cooktop danger

Hey is it dangerouse to use regualar dishes like bowls and stuff on your stove?

Only specialty dishes such as Corningware should be used in an oven or cooktop, and usually not at all on the cooktop. Standard ceramic plates very well may crack or explode or at the very least burn through the glazing on the outside of the dish.
