responsibility is what you need. so it might be a good idea to first get a smaller pet like a mouse and proove you can take care of that. a cat is a lot of responsibility. you need to feed it, often clean up after it, buy it toys to play with, keep an eye on it, show it affection, ect. an even better thing to do would be to babysit a bit to show you are responsible. or do chores untill they say yes.

I Have A Cat Before. :D I Found Her In The Woods And Took Her Home!! She Was One Year Old So It Will Be Harder To Take Care Of A Baby Cat!! :]
