Yes it is! I had this terrible scar on my cheek from when I went camping at age 9 and got bit by a brown recluse and had to have a minor surgery to remove the infection. I was given contractubex and it took a few weeks before I seen improvements but now the scar is invisible! You can only feel the scarred tissue in my cheek. hope this helps ya

After i wrote this answer I got to thinking that it, like other products, may work for one person and not another. So I guess you would just have to be optimistic and try it out! =D
