what are the consequencies of taking supplement capsules.....?

Are they really effective?

Answer #1

It depends on what type of supplement p!lls your taking about. Ones with natural herbs in them are great and nonharmful, anything with chemicals and things you cant even pronounce should be kept away from.

Answer #2

Like mandyloo said, there are lots of different suppliments out there.

Depends on what you are taking and what you are trying to get out of them.

I’ve long been skeptical about supplements and I still think most of them are snake oil. Both my doctor and orthopedic surgeon told me to take glucosamine condroitin so I’ve been taking it for years. No idea if it is helping me though I noticed that I don’t throw my back out as often as I used to; could be coincidence though. She also has me taking Niacin supplements for my triglycerides; she could have written me prescription Niacin but it is more expensive than supplements. She also wants me to take flax seed oil with every meal but more often than not I forget.

The biggest problem with the supplement market is that it is unregulated. The pills you buy may not have any of what is on the label or it could have much more than it says it contains. Unless people are dying the government doesn’t step in. The only thing you have to go on is the reputation of the company selling them.

Answer #3

As in Fitness related supplements? The capsules don’t really do anything. The powders and mixtures work effectively though. I drink Glutamine, Lucine, Arginine, Creatine, lots of things, but of course, I’ve also studied vastly on what I’m taking to be safe.

If you’re under the age of 18, be safe about taking such capsules that contain Nitric Oxide and other “anabolic” amino acids. If used wrongly, they can cause serious problems, I’ve been there. Always read the directions.

HERE IS ANOTHER ADVICE! eat like there is no tomorrow and work out twice as hard. WORK UR ASS off… Sweat and burn, torn down your muscle and u will get bigger and great looking. EAT EAT EAT.. eat like 6 times a day. EAT!!!!!!! but u gota work out or else u would be FAT

Answer #5

You have to eat 6 times a day, with meals as big as 200-300 calories. Any more and that will be stored as fat. Plus, glutamine, lucine, and other drinks containing those things are necessary if you want to be “bigger” because the body cannot create that many amino acids needed, so you’d only end up losing musicle instead of gaining it. That’s good if you want to be thin. Otherwise, without drinking such things, you’d have to workout with only negative or heavy weight.

Answer #6

i prefer eat eat eat. load myself with chicken and fish all day everyday. The natural way is the best…to get big is not about what u drink it is mostly how much effort and time u put in it..Dedication. i went from 110 - 140 no supplement.

Answer #7

True, the natural way is best, but the drinks are filled with natural amino acids. Some people just have weaker bodies so they cannot gain weight or create the same amount of amino acids that the rest can. I prefer eating my beef and fish and veggies, but I still drink my drinks because I have a really hard time gaining weight. The drinks are beneficial, if you know how to use it right, just like food. Otherwise, just eating and going to work out will only make you feel sick and will instead create a catabolic effect on your muscles.

Answer #8

You are right.. drinking them will definitely get you big… my friend got huge in 6 months. went from 115lbs to 155 lbs but he got a bunch of stretch marks.

Answer #9

I haven’t had any stretch marks, but I guess it depends how big you get and where you want it big.

Answer #10

So i think natural is the best way to start out.

Answer #11

Eating right and exercising is always the best way for beginners. Getting caught up in a bunch of protein drinks and supplements is not hard, but it’s more like a job. You can’t just drink it once a day and say done, you have to drink twice a day, certain amounts, and sometimes you have to drink before a certain meal or something.

Answer #12

how long have u been working out?

Answer #13

I’ve been working out since I was 11. I didn’t get serious until a year and a half ago when I needed to get into shape for the Marines. I lift heavy weight, in case you’re wondering. :)

Answer #14

Hesvy weight as what? I think i am lifting heavy for my size.

Answer #15

Well I’m 5’4” @ 134lb. and heavy weight for me is Leg Press: 520lb. Squat: 200lb. BB Bicep Curl: 80lb. and the such. I increase my weight by ~15lb. a week. Perfect form too.

Answer #16

u obviously havent studied anything if u think nitric oxide is in any supplement, supplementing arginine will increase your nitric oxide production.. “anabolic amino acids” huh?? in that case you should stop eating meat or anything with protein in it, wouldnt wanna hurt yourself… hit the books again ur not reading the right stuff

Answer #17

Nitric Oxide is sold in NaNo Vapor Nanox9 Hardcore, and other products from MuscleTech. Yes, I would know because I have a bunch in my home. NO is used by your body and arginine helps as well. Anabolic “amino acids” was a reference to eating/drinking proteins that help increase the growth of the muscle fibers to make it easier to achieve a “pump”. I don’t need to stop eating meats or anything, and I have actually sat down and read every M&F magazine since 2003, and also REAL books and articles on the effects of certain amino acids. You should maybe reread what your first sentence says before you go accusing me.
