What is a commision based job?

i have an interview, and they told me its an “commision based” job.

It means you earn a percentage of sales. For example, if you work commission in a clothing store and a customer buys a shirt for $100 … if your commission rate is 30%, you would be paid $30. You have to be good in sales to be successful with commission.

Colleen got it right just to help a bit more some examples of commission based jobs that i know of are: travel agents and sales person in sears or in any department stores or dealers. u could make a lot of money if you are good at selling stuff and 2 if u r lucky my friend who works at sears told me that.

commission based jobs are nothing but acting as a mediator, or working on ideas, what not every thing is business today. do give an idea to a person and make a deal with him like, whit the idea earns profits the commission/ share is 10% or 20% according to the deal. in some cases you act like a mediator or promoter of a product like you dont owe it u just promote the product from one person to another and you get some amount for that. in this way there are sooo many ways of commission businesses
