What is a comfortable position to sleep in?

My back is starting to really hurt and its discomforting to sleep on my side. I am 13 weeks pregnant and my extra weight is actually starting to effect me. HELP please.

I know how hard and discomforting it may be for you to sleep on your side, but side-lying with a lot of pillows is best when you’re pregnant. It is best to lie with one of your legs crossing the other with a pillow between them. In particular, sleeping on your left said may be more beneficial to your baby by improving blood flow. Try to start training yourself to sleep on your left side whenever you can. Of course, staying in one position all night isn’t likely to be comfortable, so turning from side to side while favoring your left side is probably the best strategy. Also, try to avoid sleeping on your back. I work as a medical assistant :)

Oh I’m a nurse but my doctor said either my back or side but for a person who slept on their tummy neither is comfortable for me and I fight myself not to roll like that.

What is the nature of the discomfort you experience when you sleep on your back? What part of your body does it make uncomfortable, and how?

It makes my back uncomfortable like too much weight is on it. I gained a lot of weight and that weight hurts my chest a lot like breathing wise. And its just altogther uncomfortable

Oh lol it temps me to roll onto my tummy….and I can’t do that.

The pillow between your knees or thighs that MimiMao suggested might help reduce that temptation, especially if you have a fairly large one you can use.
