Clingy best friend

My best friend and I have been best friends for nine years, and we go to a pretty bad school so we have stuck together for everything. But, she has become very clingy this past year. She calls me EVERY day wanting to hang out. Sometimes I just ignore her calls which makes me feel really bad. When I don’t pick up, she leaves tons of messages and keeps calling back. It’s so annoying. Not only is she clinging to me, her personality is changing as well, and I don’t like it. She is so competitive with me. And, she is very insecure. So I complement her to be nice, and when I do, she brags about it rather than saying thank you. It’s come to the point to where I don’t even want to be friends with her any more. What should I do? does she have other friends? this girll thinks highly of you,because you hang out together constantly shes picking up on your everyword.she doesnt even realise.she wants to be you but better lolif she keeps continuing like this up to breaking point,tell her your hanging arond with other friends she would annoy me
