I would go as fast as you can to your local library or book store and purchase a book on your breed of parrot. Every pet owner should own at least one or more books about their pet. Books of reference. Became a smart pet owner and know the answers.

fruits & vegetables in small quantities definetly wont hurt the bird…will do em good just like they do for us.. I have always fed veggies to all of my animals, including birds and sm. animals.. mine even ate small amounts of pasta (no sauce of course). they appreciate the variety…
