Can cats eat catnip?

Let me re word this I know they can’t die if they have it cause its in toys, but like food wise u mix it with the food… or like they sell it in bags… what does it do for cats? i dont know im not big into cats but a situation came along so i have one and dont know anything about this catnip cause never really interesrted in reading anything before about cats…..

Put some on his or her scratching post, or rub some on a toy they have that doesn’t have catnip in it, I wudnt suggest mixing it with the food though, no particular reason, that’s just me

ya they can most cats love catnip (they start eating and rolling around in it) but some cats dont really care for catnip, its usually the male cats that like catnip better then female

Some cats have a gene that makes them resistant to catnip, but it makes most of them high. It’s fun to watch them, and they really enjoy it. You can grow it in your yard…it’s like a weed, and easy to cultivate. They go crazy over fresh catnip.

I generally just sprinkle some of the dried stuff on the floor and let them roll around in it.
