Can I get a uti if...

I hold my pee for a very long time… Because lately I been doing that for a while now… And yes sometimes it burns down there and it feels like I need to use the bathroom a lot more!… I am just wondering if it can cause a uti and if there’s a chance that I may have a uti???

acually yes you can im 16 years old and im like; so grossed out by public toliets and I live one hour away from my school so from 8;00 am till 430 pm I hold my pee till I get home and from doing that I ended up getting a UTI and I wasent sure what it was at first it just burned after I peed andi noticed 10 to 15 mins after words it still burned so I went to the doctor and here my kindeys were bleeding and they gave me a prescription and told me to drink LOTS of water if its burning still. id go to the doctor if I were you though because I made it just in time, because if I would of let it go and left the burning& bleeding alone I would have had to gotten on kidney dialsis and that doesnt sound fun at all. btw it isnt noticably blood; thats why im saying go to the doctor or drink lots and lots of water . :D
