Can a 13 year old be a babysitter?

Dear vampluv2004, It all depends on their maturity and how well you know them. I would suggest you do not hire anyone to babysit until they have taking the babysitting classes no matter what age. Sue…good luck

yes mybe not for a long time and depending on the 13 year old mantality and the age of the child I dont see anything wrong with going to the store and leaving the 13 year old in charge to a couple of hours when I was 13 I was held to a lot of reponablity

it depends on how mature they can be, mentally and physically. When I was 13, I was mature (and still am) for my age. So I got a lot of baby sitting jobs… so yes, it is possible for a 13 yo to be a baby sitter..

ya because I know lost of people that babysit that arre 13 just makesure that your kids lare comfortable with them and that the person that is babysitting has lots of confidents and knows what he or she is doing !!!

I was eleven when I started babysitting and had no trouble, of course I was also very resposible at that age (from caring for my younger brothers after school). At thirteen actually I did have the care of three boys. A seven year old, a five year old, and a two year old. They are the greatest kids, but a total handful for me back then. Sometimes when the youngest was sick I had to have my sister come help me for a couple hours to do his Neb treatments so the others would be watched, but if the kid is very responsible, it’s okay

well I was babysitting at 14. it just depends on the kid. if she is responsible and trustworthy I dont see a problem. I leave my 3 month old with my sisters they are 12 and 13. not for too long tho cus hes so little but they do great with him.

IF IT WERE ME I WOULD NOT LEAVE MY CHILDREN WITH A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. CHILDREN GET AWAY SO EASILY AND JUST AS EASILY GO IN THE ROAD, OR ANYTHING. IF THERE WERE A FIRE WOULD YOU TRUST A 13 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL TO GET ALL THREE OF YOUR CHILDREN OUT OF THE HOUSE. I WOULDNT I WOULD FIND A FRIEND OF MINE THAT I TRUST OR A GRANDPARENT SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE AND SOMEONE OLD ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO ACCEPT THE RESPOSIBILTY OF THREE MORE LIVES. BABYSITTING SOUNDS SIMPLE BUT ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AND A 13 YEAR OLD ISNT READY FOR STUFF LIKE THAT. SOME MAYBE BUT NOT MOST TALK TO THIS TEENS MOM MAYBE SHE CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR DECISION. A 13 YEAR OLD IS JUST FINDING THEIRSELVE TALKING ON THE PHONE WITH BOYS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE NO TIME TO LOOK AN SEE WHERE LITTLE JIMMY IS BECAUSE THIS BOY ON THE PHONE IS MORE IMPORTANT

yes! I am 13yrs. old and I am currently typing from the house that I’m babysitting at. I feed the girls snacks, lunch, and if not all ready eatin’ breakfast. I take the 2 girls for a walk in our neighborhood some days. I just had to send a 4yearn old girl to her room for bitting her sister after asking her twice not to. for your question I don’t think all 13years olds can babysitt, so I would try to get to know them/met them before I would let them babysit.

I watch 2 little girls (4 &7) every day Mon-Fri. 8am-2:30pm while there mom works.

Absolutely. Just make sure he lets the other kids keep the radio right next to the bath tub so they are entertained while they are in it.

yes I think they should because they may want to do it for a summer job just like my two 13 year old girls.x.
