Can 5month old boxer pup get pregnant?

She has not been in heat. Male dog tried to mate. Unsure if anything happened!!

Answer #1

If she’s not in heat, then NO…she didn’t get bred. However, within a couple of months this won’t be the same story. Get her spayed within the next month, so you don’t have to worry about it. She won’t be ready to have puppies until she’s an adult…that’s 18 to 24 months for a Boxer…

yes they can, but it can potentially dangerous since she is so young. They usualsy say wait at least 2 years I believe, before you allow dogs to give birth to puppies. I’d wait a bit and have her checked out if her abdomen looks swollen or she is acting strangely.

Answer #3

again, female dogs do not go into their first heat cycle until the are 6 months old and why would you breed a puppy to have more puppies. she probably wont survive the pregancy. for one she is way too young, two, do you realize how much a female dog swells up when she is pregnant. and three do you realize how much stress you’ll be putting on such a young dog that is not even fully mentally developed yet. she is more prone to abandon her puppies out of fear than anything else. she will have the pups and then go through alll that pain for nothing, just so she can abandon her puppie and probably watch them die. don’t even attempt to breed your dog at six months, that’s still too young.

Answer #4

probably because between 5 and 6 months it can get pregnant…but if I was you I wouldnt get it pregnant so soon!!!

Answer #5

its possibly but its also possible for her not to make it through the birth of the pups.
