Can 3 year olds have psychological issues?

Im starting to worry about my 3 year old little brother, there has been a few cases in my dads side of the family of depression including me, and im not sure of my moms side but my 3 year old little brother has been expressing some scary things such as; When he gets mad he says “im gonna kill you” He has chased my sister with a knife After being punished he put his hands around his throat acting to strangle He doent sleep much at night

Im scared he could end up worse later on, is this something to be worried about?could he have psychological issues. Im only 16 but see I remember watching cartoons like scooby doo, rugrats, and playing with hotwheels, not watching new somewhat violent cartoons(watch some current day cartoons and think) and playing with toy knives and guns. What can I do to help him?

Your brother is lucky to have a sister who cares so much for him. Have you mentioned these concerns to your parents? Has your little brother said anything to you or have you asked him any simple questions after he does those things as to why he does them? He is pretty young and kids that age cant put their feelings into words so they act out sometimes..sounds like counceling with a child psycologist who could observe him in child play would be a good idea. Has there been any abuse that you may think of? Does he go to daycare? Spend time with someone else? Just some ideas to think about and who he may be around. I hope all turns out ok.

yes he could if other people in your family have had psychological issues. like autism is a psychological issues and kids are BORN with that. so maybe you should talk to your parents about it. he is really lucky to have someone who really cares that much about him. so really your parents havent noticed???
