How to make my little brother eat fruit instead of chips?

Answer #1

Hide the chips

Answer #2

Hide the chips, and other jumk food, and maybe make fun ways for eating fruit. Try creating fruit kabobs, or having platters with a variety of fruits, already cut up, and ready to eat. And you could encourage him to eat fruit, by eating fruits yourself!

Answer #3

Every time he eats chips… Smack him. Every time he eats fruit.. hug him.

Answer #4

Be creative with the fruit, and try picking fruits that don’t have a bitter or sour taste to them (unless he likes sour?). Kids, in general, seem to be more likely to eat things that are pleasantly sweet or neutral. That was my preference, anyways.

If your brother is young you could try making a plate of fruits, different kinds, in cool shapes. Maybe make a dinosaur shape on the plate, since he’s a boy. A car could work too. You could even try smiley faces. I guess it depends how old he is. If he’s young, have him help you make it.

If he’s older, I like the kabob idea Laura mentioned. You could even cut the fruit in small cubes and put a toothpick in each. Just a fun little touch.

Answer #5

Tell your parents not to buy chips anymore.

Answer #6

Yea but when I try to give him fruit but he cries and goes to my parents and they say to leave him alone. He only eats chips, food from packages, and jello, nothing else. I try to tell my parents but they make fun of me saying he’s a kid. Psh an unhealthy kid! He’s 5 btw and looks like he has autism but in reality my parents didint bother to teach him nothing( he knows stuff tho) I forgot to mention this above

Answer #7

take away all of the junk food in the house and tell your parents to stop buying that for him, it’s super unhealthy. Make him a smoothie with fruits and add only a little bit of sweetener (only if it needs it), he’ll probably like that. Try getting some starfruit and slicing those up, they look just like stars so he might find that cool. I think it’s super important for kids to eat healthy and get into the habit of making good food choices at an early age. Also, try to make sure he drinks water mostly. My mom gave me a lot of juice and milk when I was little and now I rarely drink any water… :/

Answer #8

Tough situation, since your parents aren’t helping. Eat lots of fruit (and lots of different kinds of fruit) yourself when he’s around, let him see you enjoying it, and keep offering him some. As his big sister, your behavior might have more influence on him in the long run than you know.

Answer #9

Cut the fruit in shapes or make a picture out of it. you could also make it into a game, like subtracting… guess where all of the subtracted fruit goes! kids taste changes all of the time, keep trying.
