What booze would someone drink when they are drinking to forget?

whiskey or tequila, something straight and strong.

Dark whiskeys are the typical alcohol of choice in stories and movies that characters drink when trying to forget something or if thei upset. For example, Jack Daniels, Evan Williams, etc.

Alcohol is alcohol, vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila, it all has pretty much the same effects. Some people claim to get violent on certain kinds of alcohol, i’ve never experienced something like this, alcohol is just alcohol, it all has the same effects. You drink large amounts you wont remember a thing.
