bleeding after having unprotected sex 2 days ago

I had my period earlier this month around the 15th/16th and on Wednesday the 28th I had unprotected sex, I planned to get the 72 hour pill today after work. I work up this morning with light cramps and later on today at work I realized I had started bleeding. it’s light but heavier than spotting…I’m nervous. Could this be my period again? Could I be pregnant? Is it too late to take the pill?

Let’s address something here, even if say the sperm fertilized the egg it still has to make its way down to your uterus before you actually become pregnant. With that being said, it’s way too early to tell if you’re pregnant.

However, you still did have unprotected sex so it’s best to take the Morning After pill. It works best within the week of you having unprotected sex but the effect of it diminishes with how long you wait. I suggest taking the pill then take a pregnancy test after 2 weeks from when you last had sex.

You should probably give your doc a visit, too. They might give you a better prognosis as to what might happen to you and what you can do should you become pregnant.
