Battery life

I have recently got a second-hand laptop

its only just over a year old and its a Dell Latitiude D6000

I’ve just unplugged it from charge and says its got 1hr 50mins left??

I’ve never had a laptop before so I dont know what normal but im guessing that it should last longer than 2 hours right?

how long should it last?

My dell would last about 3 hours when I first got it, and over time the battery started sucking and would only last 30 min when fully charged. I just bought a replacement battery.

My ASUS lasts about 4 hours on battery if I dim the screen to conserve power :)

I have a Sony VAIO and Mine on lasts and hour. And this was a brand new laptop. And I have heard if your have you laptop alway conntected to the charger that causes it to not last as long.

I’m not an expert, but part of my job involves selling laptops so I know a bit about battery life. Different laptops have different battery lifes. Normally you’re looking anywhere between 1 and 7 hours. I have a Dell laptop and the battery life is around two-hours or so.

It also depends on what you’re doing. If you have several programs running, making the computer work a lot then it’s going to wear down the battery faster.
