Is it OK to put baking powder in a burger?

is it okay to put some baking powder in a burger patty, store it in a freezer and cook it …let’s say after 4-5 days. Just curious.

Answer #1

Banking Soda is very salty and would definitely change the taste of the meat. If you are looking to preserve taste, you should use flour.

Answer #2

The only reason I can think of putting in the baking soda is to try and remove a bad smell from the burger. IF this is what your thinking, the bad smell is the meat going bad and baking soda won’t remove the poisons in the meat. Toss it.

Answer #3

Dear kathryn88, there would be no reason to put baking powder in a burger…it would not do anything for taste or texture? Sue…good luck
