all horse onwers I need help

Are you planning on building a barn before you get horses??

You have to have land, obviously…a corral…that would entail posts and poles and the labor to get it put up. You’ll probably want to look into an electric fence charger and wire, also…as horses figure out pretty quickly that they can work a fence, till they get out. (There are many types of chargers…some plug in, I have a solar one, but they also make good ones that run on batteriers…both the solar and the battery types are portable.

You’re going to want to put up some type of shelter as soon as you can…and before you build a barn…a lean-to is fine…enough to shelter them from wind, hot hot sun, rain…

You’ll need a trough…if you’re getting two horses, 50 to 100 gallons one preferably, or you’ll be hauling a lot of water…bad enough in warm weather, but hauling it in cold weather is hell…so depending on where you live, you might have to invest in a trough heater for winter.

I’ve never had any trouble keeping horses within a one wire temporary electric fence, if I’m pasturing them in a place where there is no fencing. You have to check the charger and the temporary poles everyday to make sure everything is working.

Aside from the actual permanent corral, most of this stuff is pretty cheap to buy…well, the chargers can be expensive, but temporary step in poles and wire are cheap.
