Algebra WTF?

I’m 16 and I did my first day of college today. I was sitting in my college algebra classroom and while I was watching my professor explain something and I had a thought enter my brain.

WTF Do I need to learn this SH*T for??!! The only math I use is arithmetic (normal math). Did A and 1 have a one night stand to create the retarded child KNOWN AS ALGEBRA?? I have never EVER used algebra in my life!

Agreed with itchi. The people who struggle with algebra are usually those who don’t listen in class or do their homework.

So how about putting in a little more effort and you might just start to enjoy it.

Algebra is a brain-stimulator.

Even if you don’t plan to use it later on, it helps you learn to think in abstract terms which I can assure you, you WILL be requiring at some point in your life, and it teaches some complex problem solving.

Most people complain about it simply because it’s too difficult for them and they’re too lazy to want to deal with it.

So, here’s a plan…pull up your socks, pay attention in class and do your studies without all the complaining because there is a purpose for everything, whether your simple mind can comprehend it or not.

I love algebra. it’s quite freakish but I do. even if I’ll never use it.
