how to delete a friend on youtube?

When ever a friend closes there youtube account the picture dissapears but there name stays there and I was wondering how to delete them from friends because its just a nusance having a load of friends acounds that arent in use

also with videos that are favorited then taken off or banned how do I erase both I tried what I used to do when they were still active but it didnt work
