Yeast infections, can men get them?

Or is it like a problem that only women can get? How would you know if you had one?

Also I have heard that some womens clothes like pantyhose can cause yeast infection or at least make you more at risk for them. Do you think this is true?

Answer #1

Men sometimes can get yeast infections but are generally not bothered by them. However, since men can harbor the yeast infection without symptoms, when a sexually active, monogamous woman keeps getting yeast infections, her partner may also need to be treated.

Answer #2

Men can get them from women from sexual contact. If you’ve never had a yeast infection, you need to go to a doctor to have it diagnosed. After that, you can pretty much tell on your own when you get one and you can treat it on your own. Yes, if you wear panty hose on a regular basis, it creates an environment that is prone to yeast growth.

Answer #3

It’s called jock itch. Jock itch is just a yeast infection.
