Why the writers killed bryan from family guy?

The dog was a funny character, what happen to these writers tell me why i dont see a good reason to take out that character. What do you think?

They only killed Bryan off once, so far, for goodness sake.

Look how many times Kenny got killed off in South Park already.

Apparently it was because they were getting lower ratings and they wanted to do something to revamp the show to increase interest.
