Would ferret and dog get along???

Well im thinkink about getting a ferret for christmas. And I already have a 10 yr old dachshund a.k.a. Weiner dog. My dog is very accepting with animals just a lil longer time period with any males..he wont attack or and e thng it wud take him longer to adjust. I never had a ferret so I wouldnt know what the reaction wud b like. Any advice?? And e 1 had the same issue?? Shud I get a male or female???

The only problem I foresee, is that Dachsunds are bred to “go to go ground” for vermin…you’re going to have to really watch for her instincts kicking in…I’m sure to a Wierner dog, a ferret isn’t much different than a rat. Her age tho, might make it easier on you…she might not have much interest…
