Working class?

In your opinion who do you consider working class and in what context would you use this phrase?

Answer #1

People who pay taxes…People who work for someone else…they don’t own their own business usually… Anyone how doesn’t have a big bank account…or many investments…it’s just my opinion anyway

Answer #2

Typically, “working class” and “blue collar” are used pretty much interchangeably. That is, those without college-educations working in the labor and service sectors are defined as “working class.”

Politicians, of course, love to bandy about that they’re working hard to serve the “working-class” voters because it is assumed that they require more assistance and compassion than someone who is working in an office. This is ignoring the fact, of course, that the typical plumber is making $50 an hour.
