How does it work when two girls get married for last names?

Answer #1

pick the one you like best? I dont know. Actually, its become a lot more common for ANY couple to just go with whatever lastname they prefer. I read this random article about men who had taken their wives names to escape their embarrassing last names…

Answer #2

It works the same as for when a man and woman get married…they can taken each others names (Smith-Jones), they can keep their own names, or one can take on the other’s name. There’s no rule that a married woman must take her husband’s name.

Answer #3

My sister’s husband took on our family name…he’s now “Ludgate-Brand”

Answer #4

I think usually people who decide to keep their names have a legit reason for it…like me for instance…when I was engaged I told my ex that I wasnt going to change my name. he asked why i explained & said ok, I understand!
I had no respect for them after the way they treated us or me more like it… So damn glad I didnt!!! Think about all those papers, documents & name changing I would have to redo to get my name back!

Answer #5

personally I would go with how I felt…you dont have to change your name to be married & love someone…at least not in now a days!

Answer #6

Really?! Wow, that’s great! :)

Answer #7

if i got married id ask her if she wanted my name or is she wanted to hyphen it with her own.. pretty much what colleen said.

Answer #8

if she had a really awesome name would you consider taking her name?

Answer #9

hyphenate them maybe. ex) mary jones and katie smith

Answer #10

you can hyphenate. for example, if kate jones and mary smith get married, they can become kate jones-smith and mary smith-jones. however you choose it really is up to you. you dont even need to change the name if you dont want to
