Will I be accepted into a good school after I was suspended?

I am a junior in high school, and I was suspended this winter for being sort of drunk at a dance. Really what happened was that 5 of us got ready together, drove to the school, and drank in the parking lot, (we did not drink and drive), but when we got there one of my friends was way more drunk than any of the rest of us and one of the teachers noticed, my friend got pulled in and she told all of the people that she was with before and we all got suspended. (I definitely learned my lesson). What I am wondering is, will this be a big deal, do colleges see this, and has anyone gotten into a good college with circumstances similar to mine? I mean good colleges too; I will be applying next year to schools like NYU, Northeastern, Boston College, etc., and I have the grades, I just don’t know if my situation is common or not.

They might hold against you, but as long as your other credentials are ok you should be fine. Ask other questions like this at http://www.acollegehand.com

Answer #2

Well, They shouldnt hold it against you. I mean it’s not like it was a federal offense or anything so if you were to ask me I would say they wouldnt pay that much attention to it.
