Why would a guy do that?

Okay here is the deal. Me and this guy have been talking for a while now and we recently told each other that we had strong feelings for each other. We always talked like almost everyday. Then during the week I was to make my decision on whether stay at home for school and see where our relationship could grow or go to school which is an hour away from home. I thought it didnt matter which school I went to because if it was meant to be it was meant to be. Anyway during the week I was to make this decision he all of a sudden stopped calling me. The last time I spoke to him was last tuesday and he said that he would call me back but he never did. I just want to know why someone who acted like they were so sprung over me and kept sayin how he has never met someone like me before and even said that I was the 1st girl he ever trusted that hes been dating.I recently called him on thursday but he has yet to call me back. I don’t get why a guy would do something like that because that really hurt my feelings.
