why schools need uniforms or a strict dress code

ok well my problem is that im writing an essay on why government schools should have uniforms or a strict dress code… the thing I that I dont know what would be a good introduction… I need help… I need to finish this by tonight and turn it in tomorrow morning in 1st period…

Answer #1

Good reasons for dress codes. They keep from distracting others in class. most dress codes still allow you to wear whatever you want, as long as it fits the code. so shorts and skirts have to be a certain length, and shirts have to have sleeves.

This also helps protect the students. things like “no open toed shoes” will keep from getting your toes smashed in crowded hallways.

Uniforms take it one step further by promoting equality among students from very diverse social classes. you won’t have to worry about finding the perfect top to go with those jeans, because everyone wears the same thing. And they help poor kids learn because they didn’t have to worry about finding clothes to wear. They don’t stick out to other kids so bullys are less frequent.

uniforms and codes also prevent students from promoting gangs, and violence. Uniforms and Strict codes are great because they basically eliminate advertising at all. Kids these days don’t want to be owned by corporations anyway. Any advertise for nike or reebock? they’re sure as heck not paying you.

uniforms are compulsory in the government schools just only for the equality. all the students are equal.

so that the discipline should be maintained.

Answer #3

umm… an idea is this— Equality is something we all want. We all dislike being judged by our clothes, being stereotyped, and shunned. With uniforms, or a strict dress code, we could keep bullying at bay. or something like that… and add on from there! hope I helped!

Answer #4

Hm…maybe start off with a hypothetical situation…like a student trying to pay attention in a classroom where the students are dressed to distract (mohawks blocking the row behind them, so much skin showing that none of the guys in the class can’t control their libido, etc.). Then you can explain how that scenario is relevant and how it happens in schools every day and how enforcing a strict dress code is, therefore, the best way to promote effective learning. Hope that helps a little. hugs, Jill
