Why is my computer being so sluggish?

you dont need to burn your comp or get a new one you just need to upgrade the one you have. the reason it is running sluggish is because of not enough RAM. you need 256 but you should go for more then that. if you don’t want to go through all that you can get a cheaper PC brand new for about $400 - $500. or, if you want jsut something basic have someone build you a computer. tell them what you need it for and talk to them about pricing. don’t go to jsut one place because some people are crooked. you can build a computer that is really nice for a fraction of them one you would spend on upgrading or buying from somewhere like bestbuy or compUSA.

and don’t use linux or ubuntu. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with it but since you are familiar with windows you would have to relearn how to use your computer.

well maybe b/c the actual computer isnt suppose to run with that system and you need to get a new one

You need at least 256 MB of RAM – way more than you needed for windows 98.
